Erasyl joins er, a native Turkic word for 'man' or 'hero' (shared with Erlan), with asyl, 'precious' or 'of noble birth' — itself borrowed from the Arabic aṣīl (root ʔ-ṣ-l, which literally means 'root' or 'origin'). So the second half of Erasyl's own name is, etymologically, the word for etymological root.
