Female

Bayan

Meaning: rich, eloquent

Origin: Kypchak

Bayan is a Turkic-Mongolic word generally glossed as 'rich' or 'eloquent,' cognate with the Turkic bay. It's best known as half the name of Bayan-Sulu, 'beautiful Bayan' — sulu, 'beautiful,' being the same word behind Aisuluu — the heroine of Kozy Korpesh — Bayan Sulu, a tragic Kazakh love epic often placed alongside Layla and Majnun as one of the great doomed romances of Central Asian and Middle Eastern oral literature.
