Amina
Meaning: trustworthy, faithful
Origin: Arabic
Amina comes from the Arabic root ʔ-m-n, 'to be secure, trustworthy' — the same root behind imān, 'faith,' and amīn, 'trustworthy.' It is the name of the prophet Muhammad's mother, Amina bint Wahb, which has carried it across the Muslim world for fourteen centuries, including into wide use in Kazakhstan.
